Telephone access

GP’s and nurses may be contacted during normal operating hours. If the GP is with a patient, a message will be taken and the recetion staff will advise when it is likely that the  GP/nurse will return your call. In an emergency, your call will always be put through to a GP.

Getting results

Your GP will advise when they expect your results to arrive at the practice. Call the surgery to make an appointment to see your Doctor to discuss your results and what they mean for your care.

Smoking Policy

This practice has a no smoking policy.

Fees and Billing

Horsley Community Doctors is a 100% Bulk Billing Practice for Eligible Medicare Card holder. Some procedures and Allied health services may incur a private fee.

Appointments

Please ring 4208 3655 for an appointment. Alternatively, you can make an appointment online via HotDoc. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and GP. Emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforeseen delay or your GP has been called away. Longer consultation times are available, so please ask our receptionists if you require some extra time. If you or a family member require an interpreter service, we can organise this for you. Please let us know when you make the appointment.

Care outside normal hours

Please contact Radio Dr Illawarra on 4228 5522. They are open 7pm-6am, and you are able to call from 6pm onward. Alternatively, if your need is an emergency, please dial 000 or present to your nearest hospital emergency department.

Home and other visits

Home visits are not available at this stage.

Reminder system

Our practice is committed to preventative care. Your Doctor or nurse will seek your permission to be included on our reminder system. We may issue you a reminder offering preventative health services appropriate to your care.

Management of your health information

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain the security of health information and at all times ensure that this information is only available to authorised staff members. We abide by the 1 National Principles available at www.privacy.gov.au/health/index.html

Your rights

If you have a problem we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your Doctor, nurse or receptionist. There are feedback forms available at the front desk. We take your concerns, suggestions, and complaints seriously.
